Hotel Description:
Built originally as a residence, the Sheraton Russell Hotel features Old World charm and a quiet location in the exclusive residential Manhattan neighborhood of Murray Hill, nine miles from La Guardia Airport. This Park Avenue boutique hotel is convenient to the theatre district, uptown shopping and downtown nightlife. For example, guests can walk five blocks to magnificent Grand Central Terminal and six blocks to the Empire State Building and every location between the two. Guests needing to relax can go only five blocks to Bryant Park, a favorite haunt of New Yorkers, to unwind among promenades, gardens, the Great Lawn, carousel and cafes.
Although the Sheraton Russell skips having its own restaurant, guests can enjoy room service delivered from area eateries. The hotel also is close to some of the world's most renowned restaurants. The hotel's mahogany paneled Club Lounge is reminiscent of an English golf course clubhouse and offers continental breakfasts of pastries, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs and other delicacies. Patrons in the Club Bar can enjoy light dinners and complimentary hors d'oeuvres.
The Sheraton Russell Hotel's very traditional English décor features a mahogany lobby with fresh flowers, apples, swan necked chairs and brass sconces that enhance the ambience. Guests also enjoy services from the concierges, who belong to the prestigious "Les Clefs D'Or," their international professional organization.
The Manhattan hotel's guestrooms are decorated with English country décor of nine foot beamed ceilings, cherry wood furnishings and oversized desks. Guests will fall asleep quickly on the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds, the extra thick, plush top mattresses dressed with three sheets, fleece blankets, plump down duvets and feather pillows. Modern amenities also include BOSE Wave radios and high speed Internet access. Marble bathrooms include telephones, bathrobes, pedestal sinks and hair dryers.
