Central Park Holiday Lighting Lighting Date: 12/04/11 110th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenues (inside the park) New York 212-860-1370 The 15th annual tree lighting and holiday celebration will run from 4pm until 5:30pm. The tree lighting will occur at 5:15pm. The kids can meet Santa, sing along with carolers, decorate cookies and make a holiday ornament. Enjoy thousands of light at the Charles A. Dana Center of Central Park. This is a free event. |

Lighting at South Street Seaport Run Dates: Lighting on 6 PM on Fri. Nov. 25, 2011; Viewing thru Dec. 24. South Street Seaport, South Street and Fulton Street New York 212-SEAPORT The South Street Seaport Tree Lighting will be held on Friday, November 25 at 6pm. Thereafter, Chorus Tree performances will be held Fridays at 6pm & 7pm; Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm & 4pm until December 24. |

Origami
Holiday Tree at American Museum of Natural History Run Dates: November 21 through January 2 Central Park West at 79th Street New York 212-769-5100 This year’s Origami Holiday Tree decorations pay tribute to some of the largest and most impressive animals and inanimate objects found in the Museum halls through the art of origami. Volunteers begin folding in July to complete the 500 creations that will be displayed on the tree. During the holiday season, volunteers will be on hand to teach visitors of all ages the art of origamifolding. |

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Date: 11/30/11 30 Rockefeller Plaza New York 212-332-6868 The 2011 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will be lit for the first time on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, with live and taped performances from 7 P.M. - 9 P.M., at Rockefeller Plaza, between West 48th & West 51st Streets and 5th and 6th Avenues, Manhattan. It's the most famous tree lighting in the country! The 74-foot-tall Norway Spruce tree takes 90 gallons of water per day. |
